Is Your Child’s Car Seat Properly Installed?

A car seat is a vital component in your child’s safety while traveling in an automobile.

Did you know that most child car safety seats are improperly installed? Each manufacturer has specific requirements for the installation and use of their seats.

Atlanta Fire Fighters are committed to reducing the incidences of improper installation of car seats thus reducing the number of injuries to children. A properly used child safety seat can reduce fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers.

Many of our members are certified Car Seat Technicians who have undergone hours of training in the proper installation of these seats. They know the different manufacturers instructions and can teach you how to properly install your new car seat. In addition they can perform an inspection to see if you have your current seat is correctly installed.


Do You Need A Car Seat?

In addition to car seat inspections our Atlanta Fire Fighters have partnered with the Governor’s Office of Highways and Safety (GOHS) to provide free car seats to those who need them.
