On Wednesday, May 31, Mayor Shirley Franklin personally delivered her latest budget proposal to City Council's Finance Committee. The proposal is a continuation of her policy to permanently consign Atlanta's firefighters to second-class public safety status. Despite having two previous efforts turned back by City Council, the Mayor is again proposing to give Atlanta's police officers larger raises that it's firefighters.

Tomorrow Atlanta firefighters will appeal to Midtown and West End voters to demand that their elected officials treat the citys firefighters equitably with their police counterparts. On Monday at 12 PM, the firefighters will rally on the steps of City Hall Tower to ask for fairness in the final budget vote.
